... using their carts far too much, which cause noise and you need to make way for them on the paths. My favourite animals were the elephant nosed shrew, the black and white animal, the prairie dogs and the monkey that had an old man face. The baby orang-utan was also very cute. Some of the ways the animals were displayed was awesome. You would walk along paths and the animals were right there in what looked like natural habitat. Often there were no bars. Frustratingly there were ...

We had to get up early for our flights to Omaha. We started walking to the train station at 7:15am and caught the train that stopped right at Reagan National airport. The train conductor was very helpful, providing clear guidance about the next stop. Walking through to the Southwest terminal at the airport Sam had an unfortunate fall due to loss of balance caused by her blocked ear. Fortunately no harm done this time, unlike her ...

    Campaign Fund-Raiser

A travel blog entry by sidforsenate on Jan 21, 2014

Thanks to Joy and Gordon Watanabe, who opened up their home for a campaign fund-raiser that drew Omahans from all over the metro area.

It is very encouraging to have supporters like that who go the extra mile to help my campaign.

When everybody is willing to find a way to help, it makes the challenge of running for office so much easier.

I appreciate the Watanabes and so many others who are stepping up to the plate on my behalf.
