Day 10 - Sunday
... s down the road till we got the picnic area, which is also home to a platypus viewing area. We headed down to see if the platypus was out for a play, but with 5 kids running around we had no chance! Hehe!! We did however see 2 snakes swimming across the water, some turtles and a eel, so the trip was defiantly not wasted.

On Saturday we went out to Teemburra Creek Dam where Darren thought he would catch a big Barra and i think he was dreaming! Well after a week in Adelaide I returned back to Mackay for the weekend and then headed off back to Newcastle for a weeks work. I was great to catch up with the kids. Bayden came to Newy for a meal on the Monday night and we were joined by Laura and Joel as well.
Laura also had me over for dinner for the State of Origin night - 7 straight wins by Queensland - not so good for NSW supporters :(

... on their way down the road, but it was a quiet morning. There were four people down eating breakfast in the eating area but I didn’t want to bother them. Looks like I was going to get to use my thumb!
I crossed the highway again so I was on the correct side of the road to get a lift. This was my first time hitch hiking by myself and so far it was going well. I saw a truck coming and put out my thumb. I am sure I looked like a dork and he didn’t have time ...
