Slept for a few hours on the bus, so the 7 hour journey wasn't that long.
My neck did appreciate the sleeping position though.
Got to Mackay at 4:30am. Was pitch black. The driver was telling us about the lorikeets while he was waiting for people.
Bus left at 5am and we waited for a bit to see the sun come up.
Once we'd seen that we went into the petrol station's restaurant and had a toastie each and some chips. Dragged that out for a while and then walked ...
... bird hides but as there was no water in the ponds there wasn't much to look at. On the way back we scared a Lace Monitor up a tree and he sat there and watched us as we walked past.

I tried to take some pictures with the GoPro to show how clear it was but they don't do it ...
... was pizza night at the park so we joined in it was $7.00 a couple for a pizza dinner . We had such a wonderful night and met the most wonderful people who have travelled heaps and we learnt a lot. Setting off early tomorrow for Mackay, hopefully a quick fix for the car , then head for Airlie Beach for a few days ...
Lot's of love/Groetjes,
Mark and Shirley.
