... The Queensland Government takes 10%, the port handles 1000 ships per year and the state of Queensland is in a 'state’. Please don't quote me on these figures, they were worked out by a bar fly at the General Gordon Hotel, Homebush.

Today (Friday), we move to the Mackay Hash 1500th run site.

Next week is Jo’s turn but no doubt I will help her because she can’t live without me……………&# 8230;…………..
Homebush, Queensland, Australia joderekononhome... br>
Another Lucy gem which came up during the trip was after we had been at Dad's for a few days and listened to Harry whining at the door and being told off several times. Lucy was giving Harry a lovely pat (she loves both the dogs and is very gentle with them) and I asked her what his name was, her response "Silly!". I am sure Dad and Linda would agree that is an appropriate name for him sometimes !

Mackay, Queensland, Australia javavan... had palm trees and garden lighting making it an awesome place to sit and chug a couple of cold beers after the hot flight. The wind was blowing quite strongly. Something that would stay with us for the rest of the holiday .... We ordered in and the food was much better that we had expected. Jills Prawns in garlic were ...
Mackay, Queensland, Australia dinziezOn our way into Mackay I phoned a school friend of Moo Moo's and Aunty Jill's and she very kindly offered us to stay. I'd only met Dobbs a few times, remembering her to be a really fun and beautiful person. Her place is on top of a cliff overlooking the water. It is a beautiful house filled with great art and a very welcomingand homely feeling. It was great to cook ...
Mackay, Queensland, Australia kimstac... but the kids remained in the backseat absorbed in their games. It was a full 30 minutes later before they noticed that we had left...and even then, it might have been the 30 degrees in the car that caused them to move. If Tracy and I had known we had 30 minutes to ourselves, we might have come up with something better to do (considering our privacy-challenged existence). On a related privacy note, a number of holiday parks have giant jumping pillows ...
Mackay, Queensland, Australia elopfamily... I scroll down the page back to Rainbow Beach. Maryborough. Oh, ****beans. So it turns out Maryborough is two hours from Rainbow Beach. And Marlborough is about three hours from Mackay. But Maryborough and Marlborough are in no way whatsoever even remotely the same town. In fact, they're about six hours apart. And guess what 2 + 3 + 6 is, approximately? Yup. 10 hours and 49 minutes. After the longest drive of all my days (though I must confess somewhat ...
Mackay, Queensland, Australia suzloua... on the other side of the resort around the pool and bar area when we walked past. The resort is about 700$ per night so we wont be staying there any time soon (that does include your helicopter transfer from Australia though of course) was nice to see it though anyway. After our walk back to our less expensive but still amazing resort, we decided to do one of the tours they offered. It was a secluded beach picnic. Basically they take you from the resort on a speed ...
long island, Queensland, Australia christinauk... good to eat in the silt at the bottom of the river and we watched from a distance as he repeatedly dived to the bottom, surfaced for air or to swallow what he had dug up and then dived again. It was really cool, he was there for nearly half an hour and then with one final dive he was gone. While the rest of the group stuck around to see if he or one of his family would return we, no longer satisified with the distant blur of a platypus, crept further down the river ...
Mackay, Queensland, Australia scruffyandco... expected to be the ring leader and get everyone in the party mood by initiating drinking games, etc. And, while for most young people that would be another benefit to the job, for me it is not in line with the kind of lifestyle I strive for. I value a healthy lifestyle, free of external substances for the most part, and I felt that it wasn't an environment I wanted to be involved in. Surely I can find a healthy environment to work in, one ...
Mackay, Australia truddick... not quite started so we were able to enjoy the beach. On the way home despite being in a raft a couple of people managed to have a nap until our driver decided play in a fishing boats wake so everyone was soaked buy the time we returned. After such a great day on the water we had a couple of drinks at Magnums and spend Sunday relaxing by the lagoon. Well now back into another week of work and planning our next adventure. Hope you enjoy the photos Love Kathryn & Nick
