OK we have done the final gather of "stuff"....from spatulas to spare batterys and have the Honda Oddessey preliminarily packed for the big adventure! We start tomorrow after Tom works the morning and Maria gets home from a half day of school. We can't wait!
The plan is to drive to Indy and drop the kids and Lauren off at the Indianapolis Zoo while Tish and I pick up the RV and do an orientation......a TWO HOUR orientation! They ...
Oh, lovely Fort Wayne. I was lucky enough to drive there from Chicago. The drive there was fine, but then the blizzards hit and the temperatures dropped. I'm not sure I can remember being in weather that cold. So that alone, will always make Fort Wayne very memorable. It was very similar temperatures to ...
Fort Wayne, Indiana, United States bono4me... their second trip to Hawaii. Our flight leaves from Fort Wayne airport (Indiana) tomorrow at 6am, which means we will have to get up super early in order to arrive in time to check in for the flight. We are flying on Delta with one lay-over in Atlanta then straight through to Honolulu. If all goes well, we will be in Honolulu at 3:10pm (their time)!
Convoy, Ohio, United States kellyfromohio... are selling "octoberfest beer" which seems to be a hit with the locals. - in most places you find old age people working packing bags or moving stuff around the supermarkets, and we are talking about people who do have difficulties to walk. Its quite shocking for our little European minds with our social security and our pension plans and retirement dreams. Obviously its a different way of living and surviving in USA. Our trip took us along 5 to 6 hours of ...
Fort Wayne, Indiana, United States veromarcosMy desire to begin an extraordinary journey has been burning for some time, and, although all of the pieces are not fully connected, the ideas and images in my mind strike me as full reality. I could not even tell you from where this inclination to explore has come, nor to where it will lead. I do know that just pondering limestone cliffs over crystal blue waters is ...
Fort Wayne, Indiana, United States dlinsmey... tour of Porto Rafti (which literally means "Port of Tailors"). We walked down to the sea, and then wandered back to the hotel. The Artemis has rooms set up in an Apartment style...each has a bathroom, kitchen, one or two bedrooms, a living room, and balconies! Our balcony faces the mountain that I have yet to climb. :) They let us go to bed after eating a Greek meal.
Indianapolis, Indiana, United States vagabond07... working on social policy as a project manager) in New Zealand ended December 8th and with the combination of wanting to come home for Christmas AND wanting to take advantage of the opportunity to sail with some friends from Maldives to Oman.... I had to just bite the bullet and book a round the world ticket. A, it was more cost efficient and B, why not? I booked my ticket on Star Alliance which allows you to do RTW tickets in mileage ...
Fort Wayne, Indiana, United States amerikiwi... It was always going to be a quickie visit, mostly due to budget and time constraints. It was a great quickie visit, and we both figure we'll go back sometime. As cities go, it's definitely liveable. And I've become a major city-hater.
After seeing the sights for awhile, we headed back to the train and then the car. We wanted to get in some driving. The time zones have been against us on this trip--heading East, we're ...
... missed their penalties. I jumped even higher when Alonso's fasted lap was destroyed by Schumacher - all in a days work for a Sports fan! The race was a fantastic experience, the noise, the smell and the glamour - this after a third of the cars were nailed on the opening corner. Schumacher dually obliged with a stunning victory and we left happy!! We left the day after the race and returned to Stamford via Chicago.
Indianapolis, Indiana, United States ianpsIt's finally here. And we are ready. What a hectic last couple of days but, with God's help, everything is done and we are ready to head for the airport. Thanks to all who are praying. We'll keep this updated as much as we can so you know where we are and what we are doing. Our trip starts with a ride on a bus to Ohare airport. Then a 7.5 hour flight to London. We will arrive there a 7AM and will ...
