... through. Hmmmm, that makes us feel safer. We choose not to venture into the barricaded area. We had about half hour to wait for our return shuttle so we hang out on the corner near the biggest group of police, ha ha and people watch. The BB King Blues Club was right were we where waiting and they had speakers out on the streets so we could listen to the band that was playing, so it was entertainment all around.

The shuttle arrives and we head back to our campsite.

We went in a couple of bars to experience the music, which was great and what Memphis is famous for after all! A lot of Elvis and Jonny Cash songs made for an enjoyable couple of hours. The morning after we had the full Graceland experience with an audio tour of his house along with seeing his cars and his planes. We ...

... were so full.  Tug's was absolutely packed as it is also open to the public not just the guests of the River Inn.  We loved the southern hospitality and have fallen in love with the Memphis accent even more than the Nashville accent.   We only had one full day in Memphis and you can't go to Memphis without seeing Graceland - the main reason we came. Nothing can describe the feeling of fulfilling a life long dream of walking through the house owned by Elvis - ...

... not be able to stick around for his birthday party at the bar. Shame to miss it because lots of big acts are coming in to play in his honor.
Our next stop was M.C. Handy's bar for another blues band. They were the kind of blues band that I always think of when I hear someone say, "they were a blues band". It was a group of guys with guitars, harmonicas, and drums and their songs started with "woke up this morning"..."dah dahhh dah ...
