... english bathing huts but these now had sky dishes, sun rooms and verandahs!

After a yum dinner of pasta we then tucked into the apple meringue pie, a delicacy from Fahlmans. WOW, what a cake! A combination of Kenny's mum's lemon meringue and apple pie, both as Kenny would say " awesome" so you can imagine, this cake was scrumptious!! We fell asleep dreaming of meringue pie and hoping for the 24 degree sunshine the customs officers had predicted...

Bastad, Skåne, Sweden jaunie_rockbabe... the first day we had to eat musili for breakfast. YUCK!! We only canoed for the last half of the day because we spent the first half of the day making sure that we all had the right equipment - didn't stop the guys leaving two stoves in the mini bus. The boat was so full of all our stuff. We were in pairs (I was with Kat) and we had one drysack each, a food bag (the same size as our tent) between us and a tent between us. Not to ...
Fagen Lakes near Gothenburg, Sweden capricorn101... and generally relaxed as hell. Fantastic. We'll stay here until Saturday when we take an overnight train to Berlin. Of course some of you will immediately recognise that Halmstad is the home town of everyone's favourite Swedish pop band, Roxette. It's surrounded by beautiful forests and coastline, all of which we've been chauffured, chauffeured, driven around to see. None of this, of course, makes for an interesting blog entry.
Halmstad, Sweden dconlisk... snce it was the day that school ended and there were lots of young people celebrating. We eventually found our way to the ferry and all four us piled into this small room, the size of a train Pullman. Then we headed for the sundeck and had a grand ole time with our drinks as we saw Stockholm disappear as we proceeded through this maze of islands. . We had a feast for supper (2nd seating) and it ...
STOCKHOLM, Sweden jrgo... or the other. So you prepare for it to potentially fall towards you. An escape route is always a good idea. In this case, I cut the tree loose and as I stepped back, the cluster fell away from me, but in doing so, a root that was hidden below came jutting up out of the ground and caught me between my legs, on my thigh and flipped me over onto my head and should. These things must ...
Hytlebruk, Sweden yehaww... of the festival and Copenhagen but the last two computers we used DO NOT allow us access to USB ports for the camera, so youäll have to stay tuned. Well, time for dinner near the new twisting tower...(built by a Spanish arcitect, it was on Daily Planet on Discovery channel not too long ago before we left, so cool to see it) Matt is dealing with a bit of a cold (the Roskilde scurvy we call ...
Malmö, Sweden kaylz... as in England, and there was hardly a tree to be seen. It was freezing sharply, and I began to appreciate the advice the that had been given me about night-travelling in Sweden. My companion was a very intelligent man, but there was a tinge of melancholy in his manner which seemed just in harmony with my own feelings. Whenever he spoke of England he drew some comparison between its boundless resources and the poverty of his own country. "There is no chance here for a ...
Angelholm, Sweden travellerbruce... David who would be playing best man and was staying in the next room. We laughed when we heard that Tadek had paid double for his cab ride last night! We eventually made our way over to Helsingor Castle on the Denmark side. It's a great place. WE did a tour of the castle where the guide told us a certain William Shakespear (Billy Wobblestick to his mates) had visited and learnt of the history of the castle. Ten years later he released his famous play - Hamlet. Apparently the ...
Viken, Sweden lucinate... the square. We walked the entire length and then came back and picked one. It turned out to be quite good. Marilyn had the fish on a cedar plank that she was said was as delicious as it looked. Early the next morning, we took a walk along the hearby Nissan River. There were two beautiful sailing vessels tied up on the quay alongside the Royal ...
