... whom I had admired for so long. It was a pleasure to see her confidence and the way she commanded her band to get the sound she wanted, and it was great that she acknowledged us, the mob of nearly 30 people that were waving and whooping to her from the far corner of the park. So at 7 the festival began and Lene came out onto the stage. The Italians are fanatics, and they were ready with big printed banners and Italian flags and big cardboard number 4s ...
Drammen, Eastern Valleys, Norway mikerickson... a few items of clothing as well? The first irritation happened in Iceland when i dropped my brand new camera and the LCD screen shattered! It has a cool abstract design on it now, but I have no idea what the photos I am taking are like until I can check them on a computer (I have and it still takes photos, but each shot is sort of a lottery hehe). Then on Wednesday while with the Italians I left my jacket in their cabin. Tracking this down became a major ...
Oslo, Norway mikerickson... and half or so. I guess all the excitement on the ship has caught up with me. The transportation to pick us up was late. So, we were waiting around outside for a while. An 1-ton van finally arrived to pick us up. All of us and all the bags (we have far too many bags) filled the van to absolute capacity. Bags were stacked in the aisles. Check in at the Longyearbyen airport went smoothly for once. Apparently Pat had saved our boarding passes from the flight in. These had ...
Oslo, Oslo, Norway amadhatter... clean ... Time to eat - I grabbed a kebab for 29 Kroner ($6 CAD). There are still some deals to be found here! It was the other kebab style that is more common in Eastern Europe, where it is massive and you treat the bread like a basket, and eat the contents with a fork. Lots of corn, lettuce, onion, and tomato. I chowed down as I walked down Johan Gate and gave some directions to a couple of lost old ladies. I handed over my map ...
Drammen, Eastern Valleys, Norway vavay_gunshot... it was something i had to do. The part that probably drew my attention was the fact that it was 95miles long. The way is probably one of Scotland's most popular walks. It runs from a suburb of Glasgow called Milngavie (pronounced mil-gye) to the capital of the west highlands, Fort William. The route passes through some of Scotland's most beautiful landscapes, through mountain and by loch, over moorland and along forest paths. Along with an attempt at Ben Nevis they were two ...
Oslo, Oslo, Norway talamarkoBev and I are ending our wonderful trip today. We are so thankful for all the good connections, future prospects and the advancement of doing our work in Eastern Europe, the Baltic Republics and the Nordic countries. We are very pleased with the contacts and strengthening of this area. We look forward to more visits that will build the churches in this area and be means of preaching the Gospel. I want to specially thank ...
Oslo, Norway victorkubikwe had such a gongshow of a time planning our exit from Bergen, or Norway i should say... i swear, it just didn´t want to let us leave... from ferries running on opposite days, to connecting trains leaving before we would have arrived, to horribly expensive buses, to sold out trains... you name it, it happened to us... so after a lot of time on the internet or running from train station to bus station (which after detouring for a half hour ...
Drammen, Norway maria_kv... trains up through Denmark, on the ferry to Sweden, and then over to Oslo. Trains are far superior to cars as they go faster making it seem like there are more things to see, and you are not confined to one seat. Going for walks on trains is especially fun, hearing and seeing the ground below you as you travel between cars. If ...
