Very poor survice

Stayed at the Bulfinch for 3 days, and had several problems. Spoke with hotel staff, who stated parking rate was $10/day..arrived to hear it was $25/day. Was advised restaurant would be in operation upon arrival date-it was not....told gym was operable....it was not...informed there was a continental breakfast included (and informed of contents of such)...arrived at hotel to find out that was not the case. Newspaper for tourist information was to be delivered to the door each morning, it was not (stated in print, in the room that was the case), cleaning service was not done 2/3 days we were there and had to call down to front desk for towels and toilet paper several times. On last day of departure, service desk gave directions and stapled, ended up lost for 3h at approx 13h driving mark as pages had not been placed in correct order, got caught in storm due to timing of being lost and had to stay at another hotel for safety purposes.

Spoke with supervisor once who initially stated "all I can offer you is an appology" and after further pushing, gave a small credit amount. Once home, I called hotel to display dis-satisfaction with overall stay, including last issue, staff were very rude and un-sympathetic to situation, advising me their staff know what they;re doing and would never advise such things as stated above.

Room are way too small! I have stayed at many hotels, for many years and have never complained, this place is not worth the money for small rooms, poor service and managers who cannot take responsibility for their staff. Stay somewhere else, you'll have a much more pleasant trip

I find it hard for the hotel staff to take responsibility for printing map quest directions as a courtesy for the guest, stapled them (pages are numbered) and the guest to hold the hotel responsible for getting lost.

After speaking to the guest again I could only apologize once again for the items that did not meet their expectations while they were here and was under the assumption we had come to a fair agreement.

Great new hotel

Hotel is brand new, so everything is in great shape. The room was very clean, nice, and new. The size of the room was not that big, but it was not unusually small. Based on previous reviews, I thought my room would be the size of a closet, but it was not bad. The TV did not have the annoying pitch to buy TV movies that is common in most hotels. The high-speed Internet connection is free and easy-to-use, and they even provided a cable that reached to the bed. I stayed in Room 801, which is configured for a handicapped person.

The only possible negative is that the shower, which makes up the rightmost one-third of of the voluminous bathroom, is basically a showerhead and a shower curtain. This means that it can get water on the floor rather easily, as a bit leaks from under the curtain. The staff was very friendly, and they gave me directions to several places. The room was extremely cold when I arrived, so I suggest that you call from the airport and tell them to turn on the heat before you arrive, if it is the wintertime.

The restaurant is supposed to open in a month or so.

"Boston's Best in the Bulfinch"

I stayed at the Bulfinch and loved it.

It's location is perfect for both business and pleasure. The building boasts character before even entering. Comfortable new interiors in an old Boston building. Modern guest rooms include high-speed internet, the finest of furnishings, marble bath and walk in showers.

Staff was very friendly, courtious and informative.

Convenient for downtown business and shopping at Quincy Marketplace.

I look forward to staying at the Bulfinch whenever in the Boston area.

WOW, Exceeded Expectations

Had my doubts, since the restaurant was not open yet, but the view is great, rooms are small, but very thoughtfully furnished with everything you need, Loved the marble bathroom, nice touch.

I highly reccommend and will definately return.

Modern and Cozy!

I live in Boston but stayed at the Bulfinch when my parents were in town b/c it's near my apartment in Beacon Hill. The hotel is in an awesome location if youre a sports nut - very near the Fleet Center and Canal Street. It's also minutes away from Faneuil Hall and the T. The building is architecturally quirky - a mini Flat Iron building, but the inside is warm and cozy. Perfect for a New England winter night. The only bummer was that the restaurant is not yet open (my only reason for 4 stars rather than 5), but once it is I wouldn't be able to say anything negative! The staff is awesome, very down to earth and not at all 'Boston rude' to my Southern parents. I highly recommend the Bulfinch and my parents will stay there everytime they visit the city!

Cool New Hotel -- Good Value!

We stayed at the Bulfinch and really liked it. Brand new modern interiors in an old historic building. Had a comfortable atmosphere. Decent sized rooms have marble bathrooms and walk in marble showers. Good location close to quincy market. Parking right next door for $18/day. Free high speed internet in room. Restaurant not open 'til December but other places to eat nearby. Very reasonable price too (less than $200). We definitely will go back to the Bulfinch.

Clarion Collection Bulfinch disappointing

I stayed 2 nights in one of the suites and was a little tentative based on some comments made in the forum. The place is in a nice location. no onsite parking. The re-modeling has been completed, but everything about the place is small. The bathroom showers; only have room for 1 person and our shower had a handicapped bench that was very cumbersome. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I stayed in the suite and paid around 200 a night. Next time, I'd look for something bigger.

Try a different hotel for now.

This hotel offers little and charges much. It has no amenities, ie., no restaurant, no fitness center, no business center, no parking, and no airport shuttles. The elevator broke twice during a weekend stay. The rooms are cubicle sized. My room had neither a full-length mirror nor a bathtub, just a shower. Good points: location, I guess. And the bed was comfortable. Ostensibly, they are going to add a restaurant, fitness center, etc, but right now, their advertising boasts about how much they offer when the reality is otherwise. For me, paying $199 nightly for something barely better than a dorm room hurts.

Not much to offer

My wife had a conference in boston and I tagged along. The Clarion Bulfinch was still under construction with amenities advertised not available. There is no parking. The front desk directed us to a public parking garage at $28 a day. All parking in boston is metered with a two hour limit. Exceed this time or risk parking in a no parking zone will cost you a $75 ticket. The fitness center was not available. The front desk said for $15 a health club down the street had a deal with the hotel. If you jog your at risk as there are many highways in the area. To get ice you must bring your ice bucket to the front desk. There are no resturants in this hotel but plenty of plces to eat nearby. The room was brand new but small with a king bed and shower only. The staff were very friendly. The rate $199 per night was high considering all you got was a room. In a pinch this place is OK but I would look for another hotel if we went again.
