... Mount Washington. It was all starting to sink in: tomorrow we would embark upon a long, technical climb of 'Ol Washy. On the way back to our mountain cottage, we visited the beautiful Glen Ellis Falls. Pouring more than 600 gallons of water over its edge in just one minute, the powerful falls were quite impressive. ... noticed as we drove in to downtown Gorham was the railroad museum. Unfortunately it was closed by the time we got here. The rail line here is ex Grand Trunk. Now it's a G & W property, the St. Lawrence and Atlantic RR. I was told that trains run sporadically. ... dinner last night at the Muddy Moose restaurant which was a large log cabin style diner that was decorated with various artifacts like old skis and canoes hanging from the ceiling. ... the way up to the auto route a passing car flashed its light at us and as we rounded the bend there was a moose and her calf standing by the side of the road. I managed to get a couple of photos before they dissapeared into the forest. We drove down past one of the golf courses and stopped to take a photo of the covered bridge that was there which was very pretty. There are a few golf courses here and they are all very picturesque.
