At our first night at an airbnb, we were made to feel very welcome by Vicki and Buddy, they showed us to a very lovely large bedroom with an onsuite. Simply put, the tour and the home were spectacular. In its heyday, the home was made up of 44 rooms! Yes, that is 44 rooms. Mr. Clay was an emancipationist and an antislavery newspaper publisher. He was appointed Ambassador to Russia by Abraham Lincoln and spent the Civil War years in Russia. Much of the artifacts found in the home are from Russia.
