    ... decided I couldn't handle awakeness any longer. The hostel guy had told me that on Wednesdays there are fireworks at Navy Pier, but they were at 9:30 and it still wasn't even 8. I walked around a bit on Michigan Avenue (not the magnificent side) and saw some twilight kayakers struggle with the flow in the river. The life around the city was actually lovely at that point.     ... Betty (name fictitious) the next morning for a waking tour of Chicago which was free offered by the hostel (Petes favourite word again - free) Aunt Betty was informative and gave a great insight into Chicago's history.

    ... and nine restaurants which focus specifically on one type of produce, so you have one restaurant devoted to pizza, another to pasta, one to meat, one to fish etc. They also have some fantastic antipasti. We opted for the restaurant devoted to vegetables (Tim having had his meat quota for the day earlier at Mr Beef!) and polished this off with a couple of delicious glasses of red wine. Feeling sated and very tired we headed off to bed......
