... described as a very funny and eventful night... upon returning to my Pendlese home, I found my flatemate Jess standing at the flat door, bag-less, phone-less, key-less, one-shoe-missing with her eyes closed, just leaning- scarily- on the door.... at first I thought she was just waiting for someone to come up with her things, but it turned out that she had absolutely no recollection of the night, post 12am! 2 pound triples at Cuba do that to you! I had to phone ...
Lancaster, England, United Kingdom katie.pitt... together now ready for when I pack later on this week. It's a bit strange as I don't feel like I'm going anywhere yet but I'm sure come this time next week I'll be thinking different! I've now got everything set out on our spare bed ready to pack in my bag, my last "to do "list is writen, I did a few bits of washing of things I want to take and I've still ...
Kendal, Cumbria, United Kingdom tizer... stuff is planned.

Now we are starting to get an idea of which are the 'must not be missed' places along the way - we can't possibly see everywhere and experience everything but shortlisting is going to be tricky!
The current plan is....
India - Sri Lanka - Singapore - Australia - New Zealand - Fiji - Argentina - Uruguay
Can't wait!
Lancaster, England, United Kingdom mad-marlin... they were booing the Aussies!!

We walk a lot of miles getting to the stadium from the hotel - "Only 15 mins walk, missus!", said the proprietor. Yeah right!!! It was at least an hour's brisk walk! Afterwards we walked into town for a bite to eat and as could be expected, every pub was overflowing onto the streets. We spied a tiny little restaurant up an alley way and had a wonderful meal there - away from the Madding ...
Wigan, England, United Kingdom pollies... my subjects... or washing... or emails to reply to... etc., but i'm slowly re-learning organisation skills (something I seem to have left in Australia).

So what have I been up to socially?!?
I made a trip back to Bolton last friday, my housemate Becca gave me a ride since she lives in Manchester... so we had a fine 30min roadtrip with a gps lady talking to us over loud Becca-style music :) I had to go straight to Bolton library though to finish ...
Lancaster, England, United Kingdom katie.pitt... not at all sober tasted terrible, just like everyone warned me about Britain) and meeting with the tutors (older workers of the university who opt to supervise a flat and are rather questionable with their intentions). My tutor for example bought the representatives of our flat 2 bottles of wine (mind you by representatives I mean me and Aggie), and made quite a few suggestive comments that the other flats at our table find quite humorous and a little creepy. All in all ...
Morecambe Bay and Lancaster, England, United Kingdom scharrak... br>English rain, tons of physics homework, and this very odd sport called
netball. I have a few new pictures- taken on the bus home from the city
centre with my flat mate Aggie, today. They aren't the best, but to
explain we learn if we take the long way home we can see the Irish Sea from the
top of the hills of the Lancaster ...
Lancaster, Lancashire, United Kingdom scharrak... brilliant at helping me, but I wish I had taken more Calculus (Really?!? Did I really just say that?). Luckily with his help it is a bit easier, but man physics has never been a strong point (there are only 7 girls in my class of 90). What is even worse is that in England they only take classes in which they are majoring, so there is no tilt in applying physics to Biology. This past week I spent measuring the length of the Universe based on changes in ...
Lancaster, Lancashire, United Kingdom scharrak... to get a couple of rooms at a Bed n Breakfast down the road called "Sarah and Ronnie's". Sarah and Ronnie were VERY talkative!!

Anyway, once we had dumped our luggage in our rooms we took a walk out to the main drag which is right on the edge of the ocean. It was freezing cold, blowing a gale and the sea spray was covering us all with a fine misty layer of salt. I LOVED IT!

The whole main drag had thousands and thousands of coloured ...
Blackpool, England, United Kingdom markandnoma2009... to see what it had to offer. It holds a gluttenous amount of visual stimuli and money grabs. In it is an aquarium, a circus, a ballroom (see picture), a funhouse, slots, restaurants, shows, rides up to the top of the tower, and more. We explored most of it stopping for a coffee to watch seniors ballroom dance (it is veterans week in blackpool). From there we picked up a couple of books and fought the elements back to the refuge of our tacky yet cozy hotel room. Off to keswick!
