The night before
School's out, work is on pause and the cottage industry is closed for Christmas. It's finally here after months of waiting and we're all beside ourselves with excitement.
The bags are packed (with space to spare thanks to Annette's frugal choice of clothes) and we have even managed to find room for Ellie much to Esther's relief.
We've got so many exciting new experiences ahead of us crammed into a 7 week trip. South East Asia here we come!

Morning of NY
Now on the way to Manchester Airport in a big taxi! Very unsettled after a strange nights sleep, waking up hoping I haven't missed the taxi. Little Mix were at the Dog and Partridge pub in my dream, tried to get a picture but my phone was broken. After trying to assure the little beauties in front of me that my camera phone will work, and my wife has to see a picture, they politely said they needed to go. Liverpool.....Yeh, Yeh, Yeh
... to contend with cancelled trains and major crowds. Upper lips remained stiffened, however, and beyond some chaos and misinformation, all remained calm. We fully expected to have to remain in Bath another night and forego our Liverpool hotel reservation. ... machine which was pretty funny. Today went back into the city and checked out the maritime museum as they had a 100th anniversary of the sinking of the titanic exhibit which was really cool. Had a quick goosey gander in the museum then wandered along the harbour to the Atlantic monument then back into the city taking pics here and there. Here we are on the train back to London. Easy day =)
... from Southport and is a port town where a lot of English people vacation. It is a nice little town, but it is mostly shops. And since it was raining, we didn't go into any shops.
For tea, Edith made me extremely happy. We talked, chopped, and cooked dinner together on her new cooker. I missed cooking my own food since all of my meals were eating out or getting takeaway. This was such a treat!!! Together (well mostly Edith) we made spaghetti bolognese ...
