Buisness in the front, Party in the back.

... It didn't take too much longer to exhaust myself in the shoulder to shoulder hustle and bustle. After a few hours and a beer I decided to go home and have a rest before the evening.

After a nap and a shower I sat around talking with an assortment of travelers in the common room until someone suggested that we go out for a drink. So my newfound friends and I set out to see what Madrid is like in the evening. Once again the finding ...

The End and Rain in Spain

... s funny how the weather helps you to form your view of a place, but whilst it is surrounded by beautiful countryside and oozes charm, the 3 degree temperature and Manchester-esque rain somewhat dampened the Cuenca experience so to speak. This, combined with the careful situation of all amenities, at the bottom of the hill in the soul-less expansion of the original town, made it all the more unwelcoming. Signs ...

Almagro - Cuenca

... situation. Just after we bought our train tickets these two police officers asked us for our passports then they took our passports and called HQ. I have no idea what was said but apparently we passed. This is also where my camera stopped working. Well it works but I just don't have any more room left on my card. **** camera.

Screw the Hanging Houses, I'm Hungry

When we finally reached Cuenca we drove up a steep street looking for parking. We squeezed into a spot and without thinking Chantal killed the engine. We all realized her mistake a second later when the car rolled down the hill and slammed into the car in front of us. "Oh ****!" Chantal yelled as she turned the key and backed off. A man was quickly walking up the street towards us. Was that his car? *** Sunday ...

Day 9 - Spanish TV

... in the black-markets. In fact some Chinese students were put on electric chairs after spending so much money, patience and courage in order to watch one. And then, I paid a little amount of money to this hostal for bed and shower, and those very explicit programmes were included in the price, with no cops watching. I was watching it for a while but finally got bored and went to bed. C'est la vie...now I understand why my friends often ...

Day 8 - Cuenca (Spain)

... budget hotels with private rooms). The first hotel had a single room for 27 euro, but of course I had to walk around to compare the prices. Anyhow, it was great to know that my spanish was good enough to ask the prices around. Thanks for Hector my Peruvian flatmate. The second hostal was peculiar. It did not have a entrance or reception desk, but only a sign outside of an apartmnent building ...
