... on the road. The storks have had special poles made for them, but they seem to prefer the powerlines! Clackety clack as they talk to each other. The aqueduct channel runs alongside the road filling dams and running on down to the village. And eventually we saw the aqueduct in the distance, but sadly don't walk close to it.

Off up the hill that was noted to be a killer - a lie - and eventually turn onto the old Roman Road and bliss bliss bliss are the only words for today. ...

... away. So tonight they say 8pm! Arrgghh!

I know I've said this Camino is soooo different but truly it is. The place is over run with French walkers with the odd German, Dane, Spanish, etc. thrown in for good measure. We are both so glad of a buddy or it would be lonely - English is hard to find as a language. The Finnish are excited, because they are tired of speaking German but.......they are incredibly helpful in getting things interpreted. They speak both languages ...

And at last one comes into view on that long dark windy road. Car pulls over, confuses the car behind who flashes lights, driver looks at us like we're crazy and out we get.

Now we are walking on the wrong side of ...

Another lazy start to the day but.......... John decided to investigate a noise in the front wheel and discovered that we had a C.V. joint problem. A trip to Madrid after all, but try to talk to someone first. Meanwhile Marilyn went to the vet, as the dog Tessa had a walking problem and seemed in considerable pain. We tried more calls and internet research and got nowhere so ...

      Monfragüe National Park

Late relaxed brekkie. Again, so good to be with old friends in a real house! We were taken to Monfragüe National Park to watch vultures perched on the craggy hill tops, some taking off and soaring overhead. Did not see any black storks, which we assumed would be like jabirus back home, but we also saw herons and wild deer. The park itself had a peaceful and beautifully remote feel about it. Drove on ...
