... through bits of forest and farmland, the sounds of the normal birds and lots of mum and Bub cows. Cute as and sucked in. A number of story boards along the route and for the history buffs I have included some in the pics. Negotiating creeks and watching steps and finished with two days of not rolling the ankle. Still quite swollen with it, this is no place to be a woose! Walk on!

Today is only a gentle 21km and we pass through ...

We had to revise our plans again (still associated with that closed Albergue) but we can walk a little further tomorrow and get back on track to good distances each day. Get off the bitumen all the way to Riolobos. Now this is the new diversion from the original VDLP because some farmer decided despite government pressure to not allow us onto his ...

... Hedley drops downstairs to see by any small glimmer of a chance a cafe is open early for coffee. Locked in! Holy **** we have a taxi booked and can't get out! Try the fire escape - that is also locked. Scary a bit? Rustle a little bit as we are going to have to wake the owners up to let us out. Ring the bell - can hear throughout the building - holy **** sorry for waking you folks - the lady comes straight away - she's already up! Buzzes and let's us out. Phew! Now ...

... who suggested we approach the guy in Lisbon who has been so helpful to them last week. Sent off several emails, then home. Marliyn cooked paella- this time, EXACTLY as I expected, pork, chicken, chorizo, vegies and fluffy rice.(not baked as we had in Seville). Decided to head for Madrid anyway next day, as the only lead we had so far with the Boomer was to travel backwards ...
