... the 45-minute trip to Cambridge (express). There, we loaded the bags into the back of a taxi and were soon at Kirsten’s door, greeted with excited hugs. After unloading the bags and a bit of unwinding, we walked to The Old Spring pub for drinks and dinner. After dinner and the walk back, I tried repeatedly to post a photo on Facebook but eventually gave up and used Kirsten’s Mac to post an entry and photo.

... the locals don't like to eat them or there aren't enough to eat - a careful scrutiny of menus at local establishments confirmed there was no eel on the menus.

Ely has a tourist drawcard - free parking. But it works strangely. The "short term" park we used right in the centre of town allowed 2 hours of free parking; the "long term" one further away had a limit of 90 minutes!
