Around 90% of Hannover were destroyed during WW2 and when I saw some of
the old houses that remained untouched it really broke my heart as I
could only imagine how pretty this city must have once been.

Well we were greeted with thunderstorms on our last morning in Denmark, and had a very soggy pack up at Western Camp, as the hairy bikers trundled out in their motor trikes and caravans. ... of the succession to the Throne of george Ludwig and also, the last year that there will be a British military presence in Germany. So following WW2, 70 years of our forces being based in Germany will come to an end. It is quite strange and an odd quirk of history that it is also the centenary of the first great European exercise in collective slaughter. One can only hope that by 2114, we have learnt something.
