There were a few places to get food or your dog groomed but other than that it was a serene walk with barely anyone around except a man trying to fish non-existent debris out of a lake. The next stop would've been the Marina had I got back on the metro but since I could see the station in the distance ...
... pestered to buy things so decided to hop back on the ferry and head home for a quiet dinner in the hotel. Quiet was an understatement as we were the only people in the restaurant. The service was unbelievably slow but once the food arrived it was very tasty, very reasonably priced and more than we could eat.
Much better to have a car in Dubai, rather than relying upon tours. You can just zoom off to any odd thing that looks interesting, and you see so ...
... of desert. The windows are mainly green, grey or blue glass. It's hard to imagine you are in the desert. They use about 2.6 million gallons of water a day to keep Dubai. Had lunch in a souk which was made to look old but it was new. It was near jerameih beach. Went to a noodle bar and used a 2 for 1 coupon. Very nice. Vince,s beer was the same price as some of the meals. Grog is expensive. The souk was lovely. Lots of thick solid beams and concrete . Very upmarket ...
