... made homemade cranberry sauce which had an amazing zing to it. We had 3, 3.4kg turkies for about 14 people. Bread, stuffing, mashed potatoes, beans, corn, carrots, pickles, squash. Alvira made oreo cakes, Pam, Wendy and I made an apple crisp, Shawn bought a frozen apple pie and Manny brought a fruit salad for dessert with ice cream. Pam and I had to leave at the end to head ...
Braunschweig, Lower Saxony, Germany plcouttsiepWe headed to the Hamburg Hauptbahnhof to get tickets back to Braunshweig. We stopped in Hannover for 1 hour and we quickly walked through some of the shopping section. We were tired when we finally arrived so we hung out in my room for a while just relaxing. We hung out with all of the URI students in Weststadt and it was a lot of fun.
Braunschweig, Lower Saxony, Germany plcouttsiep... which was around 18,000 people I think but the music wasn’t that great and German’s don’t really know how to just have fun and be silly. Sometimes we felt like we were the only people singing to even the German songs. After the 1,000 people practiced the choreographed dance (a shortened version) about 10 times and 4 hours later they finally filmed the real version for the show. I do not want to hear that song for a long time now! It was pretty fun and crazy ...
Braunschweig, Lower Saxony, Germany plcouttsiep... costume stores in Germany since Halloween isn't really a big event here.
Wendy and I also explored for the Staples on the Ring but it was a disappointment, we were hoping it would look exactly like it does at home. Oh well.
When I got back I went to the Michaelishof area for Denise's handball game with Soth and Shawn. Denise is Soth's German International Partnering Projekt (IPP ...
... some fun. We wrote our names down on index cards and then we were put on random teams for 15 mintue games. All the players on each winning team got a shinny ribbon and whoever collected the most ribbons won a prize. We didn't realize that the tournament lasted from 8:30pm -6am!!! So we left around 11. It was a lot of fun, but some of the Germans were very intense and I had no idea what they were telling me to do sometimes!
Braunschweig, Lower Saxony, Germany plcouttsiep... there was a short breakfast and then Wendy and I went to go pick up our Visa's. We are now officially allowed to be in Germany for 1 year! We hung around Friday night and baked wurst in onions, cauliflower and peppers and also made mashed potatoes, it was amazing!!
Braunschweig, Lower Saxony, Germany plcouttsiep... got to eat free currywurst in the cafeteria which was really good. Then we were able to explore on our own if we wanted and then head back to Braunschweig. That night we also had another party for the completion of our summer classes. We had to make our own food again, so I made barbeque chicken, and everyone else made really good food. The place where it was located is tricky to get to but it was fun.
Wolfsburg, Lower Saxony, Germany plcouttsiepDorf= Village
We traveled to Wolfbrittel today on the 420 bus, which is an adorable little village (Dorf) right outside of Braunschweig! Went to the Jägermeister plant they have there. It was a fantastic tour! They are so efficient, well organized and thorough with the entire process. There are so many quality checkpoints from the ingredients and then during the ...
... an old abandoned barn, the original inhabitant having vacated the premisses earlier for his/her nocturnal owlish activities, a few lukewarm Warsteiner beer and my cans of Bratwurst awaiting consumption, my mind hardly returning to the real world, complaining forcefully in the recesses of my very being trying to concince me to continue the sportive healthy life style, this excistence as a long distance ...
