... am a complete control freak when it comes to this travel polava and unjustly doubt the ability of anybody to organise something better than me. It would appear I was wrong as it was fantastic and we all had an amazing time. We were met at the airport by Dannys mate Trigger from Hawkshead, who recognised me from nights out apparently and we also share some of the same friends. Trigger, a 6ft odd version of postman pat, and nicknamed after the gormless ...
Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa jordanblair100... we should be in Perth!

Outlook lodge is very nice, roomy and cosy. what more do you need! The bath is the size of a swimming pool!

Whilst I think of it, why is there always a big mouth on flight? This couly had the mouth of a bloody fog horn, and never shut up, the whole 50 mins. Not even the turbulent landing phased the *****! I think Durban will miss her.....not. Just our luck she will be sitting at the next table at the restaurant tonight. If she is ...
Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa pileinn... tipped us off that we might be dealing with a talker, so we steeled ourselves up for it when we stumbled across him at breakfast. We agreed to join forces on a sortie to a local bike shop for some last-minute gear acquisition, and took him to our tried-and-true dining spot for dinner. I noticed he wasn't super familiar with southern Africa - not sure what kind of research he'd done - and if I'd only known what was to come perhaps I would have tried to warn him.
Johannesburg, South Africa brisko... being attacked by 3 female lions and then we drove back the next day to see the outcome, sadly Buffy had died but had put up a strong fight and managed to crawl across to the other side of the road, but was met by the male lions. We experienced camping on our first night in the park, with basic amenities and torrential rain and hardly slept. We finished our safari with a night in a luxury lodge and shared our ...
Johannesburg, South Africa miss.scotty... Left early the morning to cross into Botswana to the Panhandle of the Okavango Delta to Guma lagoon. Was transferred by 4x4 to campsite and by boat to the place where the mokorokoros leave from. Had a wonderful day on the Delta - saw loads of birds but no animals. But it was really hot, I would think about 35 degrees and it is supposed to be winter!!!! The locals were very jerseys and the tourist shorts. I was quite happy to get out of the hot sun ...
Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa elmab... the evening away. Later on Denton, Tandor's brother, insisted everyone induldged in a few shots.....tequilla and suitcases - it all went down hill from there!! I made it back to my room.....but I have no recollection of doing so!! I had left my room in a bit of a state - there were two single beds in there and I'd left my open backpack on one of them with everything spilling out all over the place - the other one free to sleep in......when I woke up ...
Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa cat2222... another capital. The Union Buildings are pretty magnificent and seem to stretch for miles in both straight and curvy architecture. The two wings at the sides represent the Boerish and the English part of the population. The building's name comes from the time of the South African Union, which was only changed in 1961 to the current name, the Republic of South Africa. Since the first free and common elections in South Africa in 1994 the Union ...
Pretoria, South Africa lroff... we trekked the mountain gorillas (Bwindi, Uganda) 25. Listening to Berber music being played in the nightmarkets of Marrakesh ...
J´burg, South Africa flowergyaruThis was my third trip out to see South African Airways. It's a great place to fly long haul to - especially as SAA had provided a "Gold class" ticket. Flight leaves at 8pm. Nice dinner, go to sleep, wake up in Jo'burg. Only a two hour time difference, so no nasty jet lag. Went on a mini-safari.. amazingf to have zebras and giraffes just wondering around you as you eat.
