    ... homemade beer which they was selling to us in the bar .
    I acedently ordered the table the wrong drinks .... we ended up with a METRE or largr on the table in stead on a litre .
    next I then ordered a 5 litre TOWER of beer which was delivered to the table and stood approx. ,, 5 foot above the table ..

    ... bad. I am REALLY stiff from all that sitting though, and sitting seems to be the plan from now until we arrive in Lyon. I am going to love finally getting out, breathing some fresh air, and walking around the city. I was planning to get Euro at an ATM and maybe get some food, but the machine ate someone's card so I got paranoid and changed my mind.     ... out the trip food wise. Will be so happy to be back home in Australia - really looking forward to catching up with you all when - we are over the jet lag!! Just need to get the slides made up and we'll have ya all over! Great to catch up with Suzy, Gabriel and Stephane - and Pedro and Naira.     ... and I couldn't stop taking pictures. We meandered through the city along the canals for a few hours. There was no aim to our wandering and we ended up a bit disoriented by dusk. (The sun doesn't go down until 10:30 here!) As soon as we found the hotel again we practically ran to our rooms to go to bed in order to have enough energy to explore Amsterdam tomorrow!

    After several cups of coffee we joined a walking tour of Frankfurt. It was led by an American, Dave, and took us around all the historic places in the city centre. For someone who doesn't "do" history (and I have to admit to mentally wandering at times, literally at others, to take photos) I found it not bad. It was pretty much a potted version that even I could cope with. We did go to the food market - reminded me of Queen Vic Market in Melbourne, but on ...
