... elicits wide-eyed wonder, but the rest of the meal is quite outstanding. The pizza would even appeal to RI brick-oven experts!

Back to the station, we wander through the now thick crowds like a set of ducklings. Two-by-two the Amy-Lily combo is easier to spot and keep track of than you might think and we manage to stay together despite some accordion-like expanding and contracting of the line.

... museum some pieces on display were temporarily borrowed from private collections. But here the art was alive and needed to be carefully nurtured, watered and pruned on a daily basis. Here you could not find a single leaf with a slight discoloration. Again, it was all about perfection. Wonderful Whimsical Wisteria

... are many little gift shops throughout the Park and one main one that funnels the crowd in and out of the Park. There were aprons, washcloths, scarves, cookies and candies, postcards and the like, all with a wisteria theme...lots of things to buy to bring home. A special treat near the back of the park was the stand selling wisteria flavoured soft ice cream!

... booth, the guys asked where we were from and then gave us a bunch of stickers as souvenirs for coming so far for the event. The drivers of one of the Subarus (one of my favourites that was there!) gave us a full tour of his car and chatted with us for half an hour. We dropped off our Hachiroku rental car in the morning and left Yokohama to head to Tsukuba. The train wasn't one of the usual JR trains (no forward facing seats, no reservations, quite a bit smaller) as Tsukuba isn't quite as popular as the other cities - it's got a population of 215,000 opposed to Tokyo's 13.5 million. As it turns out, that means there isn't a whole lot to see in Tsukuba, so we hung out in the local mall until it was time to check into ...
