The guidebook says Nikko can have hordes of tourists. The best bet is to go on a weekday (today is Friday) and there are less crowds in the wet (today is raining)! Excellent, we got off to an early start, found a bakery almost next door where we got an delicious pastry and an ok cup of coffee. We jumped on a bus back to the national park area and decided to do the Takino'o Path first. There are two walking paths around the historical part of Nikko, each of them about a 5km loop. ...
