We received the news that Gran had passed away peacefully on the 8th November. The family was by his side day and night after having a large Left MCA territory stroke a week before and it was lovely they were there through his last days. I think quite a few Japanese tourists take up this opportunity because most of them would never own a kimono - they are horrendously expensive ($1500 to.....pick a number, any number, just make sure it's a very large one), and my guess is that there are not a lot of opportunities to wear a kimono ...
