hey guys, I actually don't have that much time to write for you today, because we went to Neuschwanstein castle (the disneyland castle) and it was absolutely AMAZING!!! Words cannot describe how good it was and if I start writing about it I may end up going on for pages and pages. I brought A LOT (and I mean a lot) of souviners because I'm only going to be there once and had so much fun (especially on the 4 hour bus ride ...
Schleissheim, Upper Austria, Austria teiganduketis... a really beautiful and peaceful countryside. We all commiserate with man's behavior to fellow man.
Chilled to the bone, we leave for dinner. We go to a favorite local restaurant of Alex & Richard. It is a country restaurant. Very nice food and a completely local atmosphere.
Alex wants to see a favorite artist at her opening in a local art gallery. She ends up buying 3 pieces to go with one she already owns.
... few hours with Ryan who was staying at Krumlov House too and on the same shuttle bus.
Main square was nice. A few more old buildings and churches.
Saw a weird green floating disc shaped pontoon that was apparentlya gift from somewhere...
Ate Linzer torte in Linz which was probably the highlight of my 3 hours in Linz :)
... FT: Hmmm, that’s an interesting observation – seeing as how the entire statue is green.
Anyway, perhaps some (or maybe all) of the comedic effect is lost in my attempted translation, but, take my word for it, it was funny.
We then continued our eating tour (literally, if I was awake, there were never more than two hours that passed that I wasn’t eating while in Austria). We went to a new restaurant – I think ...
... the view – I had my first Linzertorte – very tasty – sort of a crumb cake with a layer of jam in the middle.
After a brief respite at home, we headed out again – to long night at the museum. This is an annual event that occurs on the same night throughout upper Austria. One ticket will get you into any museum (actually in upper Austria, although generally people stay in one city). The museums are open for the event from 6pm until ...
... br> even a rougher-hewn predecessor in Prague.
Even the introductory paragraph of the Austrian artist’s site
reads like the opening to an ancient future, calling on the
Druids of Stonehenge and the crusaders of Everquest or the
worlds of Myst:
In the ages of the ancient advanced civilizations the presence
of the Guardians of Time was recognized with ...
Linz, Austria eyre... the size of Adelaide, so when people say it's the biggest shopping centre with everything you could need I got a little excited (thinking of something like Pacific Fair or the likes!). Ah, well, it kept me occupied. Oh and after all that, I walked down to the local shops and bought some new jeans (my zipper broke right before I had to give a brief presentation on Friday at uni, can you believe it?? Ugh) and a cute top. What do you think? :P Tschüss, missing everyone heaps! Xoxoxo
Linz, Upper Austria, Austria noni_matt... ride to the top was great fun. Once at the summit we circumnavigated the church and settlement on the paths and roads, taking about 20 minutes. An unexpected surprise on our walk was the deer enclosure, in which we found 2 female and 1 male, all of which seemed interested in our presence. Due to the weather and time of year it was very quiet on the Pöstlingberg; we only saw 2 other groups of visitors during our time up there. We were joined by a group of primary school children on ...
