Freising, Bavaria, Germany marinaalekseeva(70 miles) This morning we toured the city of munich and ate the Bavarian things. We had some Weissbrot (white sausage) and pretzels. We also ate some spargel (asparagus) soup just because we see spargel being sold everywhere. Munich was a very nice city with a huge market and huge parks. We then continued our journey with relatively uninteresting country side. Our next destination would be Prague.
Landshut, Bavaria, Germany randyandchrissy... name by two Swiss art students in the 1700s who explored the area and remarked how much it looked like home. We spent two days hiking in the vast forests and looking at the very strange and unique rock formations. All over the place are these massive gray-black sandstone rocks that jut out of the earth through the trees, like zombie hands bursting through a grave. The National Park has done such a great job with the network of trails; every path so well ...
Landshut, Germany vagabonderz... the tent, had a much needed cold shower, then hit the beach. After hours of lounging under the umbrella and reading, napping and people-watching we went back and had dinner. Later that night we returned to the beach with a bottle of wine and watched the sun disappear behind the mountains. When the last bit of light faded away the black night sky revealed countless stars, so many that the milkiness of the galaxy was visible, and we lay there watching shooting stars streak across ...
Landshut, Germany vagabonderz... small children who were the cause of this, lighting them in public spaces, down alleys and in parks. The main event for the celebrations was the free concert and fireworks show in the Champs du Mars Gardens below the Eiffel Tower. We parked the bikes a short distance away and joined the already forming stream of people heading toward the venue. Nearer the grounds, the Gendarmerie were out in full force dressed head to tow in uniform complete with leg armor, wearing menacing looks on ...
Landshut, Germany vagabonderz... odds we'd get a bad battery), they promptly replaced it...also, the first place we went to had the spare part we needed (and it only cost us 6.50 Euro) we drove both items back to the shop and left it with them. Oh yeah...not only did we have great luck on these two things, we found a bike for me at a used bike sale for only 45 euros! Funny how things happen in threes...turns out third time at the shop was a charm too, since when we returned later on the van was starting ...
Landshut, Germany vagabonderz... wedding negotiations, the trip from Krakow to Landshut, tensions between "Hof und Stadt" (Court and City), the arrival of the Princess, the wedding and following celebration. All of the actors are residents of the city - in fact, all of the actors for the entire pageant are residents, and that includes upwards of 1,000 people. The play was funny and well done. Many medieval elements were incorporated into it, including the distinction between the noble spectators and the gallery ...
Landshut, Germany harrellrl... views! Then I took SBahn to Marien Platz again and went shopping! That night there was a "Farewell Party" at the beer garden in Freising. Weihenstephan is the oldest brewery in the world.

http://www.weihenstep haner.de/index.php?page=home_2_1_1& PHPSESSID=
