... with great views out across the
city and the Danube. It was also a vineyard area and many of these
are open for tasting over the weekends, but not on Fridays. We had
hoped to have lunch up in the hills but everything seems to be only
open at the weekends so we had a late lunch back at Nussdorf where
the tram came in. We had a lot of time to kill so after our
      strenuous wander we ...

The opera was La Cenerentola. I ...

... Vienna was just beautiful, with street after street of stunning architecture depicting centuries of history which seeps out of every monument and intricate column. And yet again we were in a city which developed some of its riches through music, which I hadn't really appreciated. It was very different to the country and blues that have put Memphis and Nashville on the global map, but undeniably Vienna is rightly proud of its part in brining classical music to the world ...

      Morning in Vienna

Took the morning bus/walking tour downtown. It's a catholic holiday, so all of the lovely shops were closed. Lucky for us, we're coming back here for a few days after the cruise. Saw some amazing architecture from the bus, walked through the stables of the Lippanzer stallions, and visited St Stephan's church. There was a mass going on, with a beautiful choir singing. We're skipping ...
