Long wait at airport

... Tim home for some alone time. We found yet more yummy items and enjoyed it despite the rain.
We went to Schonbrunn Palace, the Hapsburg Emperors summer home, on Monday. It's the palace Louis XIV was trying to out-do when he built Versailles outside of Paris. We had good weather and also found out about whipped cream on top of tomato soup, yumm.

... hoping the big pandas wouldn't be snoozing! Much to our delight they were both up and having a huge bamboo feed, and even came to pose for our photographs. To top it off we noticed a small baby panda snoozing at the top of a tree! Seeing as we missed seeing the pandas when they came to Edinburgh Zoo, this was easily the highlight of the day. We wandered off to see koalas, wallabies, lions and tigers and bears, hippos, penguins, sea lions, elephants, bees, ...
After a very early dull morning we left Venice behind and were off to Vienna, Austria. As the journey was a long one, there was a lot to do here and we had a dinner to make, we only stopped once along the way. On the way Rachel and I fell asleep as we were travelling through very dull, foggy country side. Only 90 minutes later we both woke up to the sun, beautiful blue sky and white everywhere. ... the Ferris wheel, the maps went away and we edged closer and closer watching this thing grow bigger and bigger! So we jumped on board (it was freaking old and built by the poms so it took a little convincing) and took in the sights, spectacular! Then we jumped on a roller coaster where you stand up 4 to a cart, shoulder to shoulder, then as you set off if tilts you forward head first in a horizontal position for the ride. it was wicked.
