      Come to Como

... Then up the funicular to the mountain overlooking Como, not happy with view at that height we decide to walk up to the lighthouse. Snow covered following last weeks cold blast we make our way up - a long way - finally arriving at 'the lighthouse'. The view was spectacular, well the view as best it can be here with quite dense haze/smog. We could see the water but sadly the Swiss Alps, whilst could be seen, were blurry. (Switzerland is ...

      Sparkling Lights in Lugano

We arrived in this beautiful city at dusk so we weren't able to get the most out of it. Stayed there only for one hour and we spent that time in Parco Civico capturing the flickering lights of the city surrounded by mountains. The view from the shores of Lake Lugano was fascinating. It's truly a must-visit city and I'd love to go back and see it in broad daylight. ...

After our long trip from Chamonix we arrived pretty late in Milan. Even though our hotel was off the main circle we were able to spend that night near Duomo thanks to tram line 14. I can't even begin to explain how breathtaking Duomo is. It's truly one of the best churches I've ever seen and I'd strongly recommend you to see it at night. It's honestly stunning, the crown jewel of Milan.   The inside however wasn't as nearly good as ...

... 2 metro stops all the time in Madrid how hard could it be? Except our bags were the problem. One of the metal stems in my carrier decided to break midway so I couldn’t lean my bag against the bars anymore. Also we underestimated how hard it is to walk 30 minutes. That’s a long time.

We ended up in a somewhat of a high fashion boutiqe district. It was winding narrow cobble streets with salons and boutiques every once in a while with prices in the 1000 euros. Maybe ...

      1764. My Last Lombardian Province

... experience that country, all on foot. But that will be for another time. Right now I'm just going to walk around Varese for a little bit... and then go on to other things. Varese is quite different from the other Lombardy capitals. It has more of a Mussolini era feel, with big squarish building and long colonnades of equally square pillars. Actually, I don't mind it. Just nice to see something different, and be reminded of the short period of time when modern Italy was ...
