A sleep in today with a 9.00am start.

First activity is a city tour, well what there is of it. All but 17 houses were destroyed by an inferno during the war so there is not much history standing. We went to the rebuilt church, payed for with American help. Unfortunately our guide took it upon herself to deliver a sermon which some enjoyed …

The Jätkänkynttilä bridge with its eternal flame over the Keimjoki river is a tribute to old logging culture. The streets in the city centre ...

Most of the people in the streets are making their way between stores. There are two main shopping malls, both small. Of course, McDonald's has a prominent location across ...

Finland was 3 days of good fun, we visited 3 cities in this fascinating country; Rovaniemi, Jyvaskayla and Helsinki. I always imagined Finland to be a very cold country and to be honest was not sure what Finland had to offer. First thing is first I was wrong regarding the weather. Helsinki was the first place I wore a dress for 3 weeks, the warm sun was so lovely to feel again. The first highlight of Finland was definitely visiting Santa, the ...
