A sleep in today with a 9.00am start.

First activity is a city tour, well what there is of it. All but 17 houses were destroyed by an inferno during the war so there is not much history standing. We went to the rebuilt church, payed for with American help. Unfortunately our guide took it upon herself to deliver a sermon which some enjoyed …

Decided on Fransmanni for lunch after 2. I had the slow cooked reindeer and Dylan had the sautéed reindeer. Dylan totally had food envy!! Although then he had a ...

... into the town is far from imaginative or attractive. The dominant building style is purely utilitarian. Most buildings are 3 or 4 storeys tall and boxlike. The streets are not on a grid pattern although I don't detect any landforms preventing that.

Most of the people in the streets are making their way between stores. There are two main shopping malls, both small. Of course, McDonald's has a prominent location across ...

... and play cards. After all the sore heads the next morning I was not regretting our decision. Helsinki is the capital of Finland and we got out and about to explore this beautiful city. We went inside to see the rock church and looked at all the gorgeous cathedrals that were on offer. We stopped in their city park for free wifi and a mother of all ice creams. Over all it was a nice chilled out day. Some fun facts about Finland; There is one ...
