... we stopped for a couple of hours at Lake Lugano. Reminiscent of Milford Sound with its step mountains, though much more built up, it was lovely. Spring had arrived with beds of tulips. People strolled by the waterfront eating gelato and soaking up the sun. ... both have the lovely aroma of Chanel No 6 or au de bovine/dynamic lifter. A gentle scent which just makes you realise you are in the countryside.When we got back to town we went and saw the Lion Monument which was dedicated to the 700 soldiers who died for the freedom of Switzerland from the Hapsburgs. Interestingly the sculpture wasn't paid correctly so you can see the shape of a pig in the rock around the lion. Then some shopping before returning to the hotel for tea.

... It brought back wonderful memories of our trip to Canada and these countries are remarkably similar. We settled into our Hotel and then commenced our happy hour tour on Lake Lucerne. We enjoyed a wine as we cruised by spectacular homes and beautiful churches with the backdrop of snow covered mountains - just wonderful.
