Today we caught the train from Frankfurt to Friedberg to pick up the van. It was late being available and we got out of the hire company's yard at about 6 pm. We then drove to Laubach about 40 km NE for our first night in the van. The friendly manager met us on arrival, and sorted things out for us, even ringing the local pub to stay open so we could get a meal.
... The AirCon was on full, as it turns out that we have come on holiday in a record breaking heatwave summer for Northern Europe - perfect!! The scenery was gorgeous! It's done and we are heading out early tomorrow for our 12 pm flight back to the US. We ...
... Traffic must have been backed up for 30 km. those poor drivers were going to be trapped there for hours. What a mess. It was nice to be back with Tante Siggi!! A quick coffee and cake, and then off to Bernd and Nicole's for supper and a visit. Max (going to be 7 next week) and Mia (2 1/2) were delightful. They have grown so much since our last visit. We had such a nice time- it was hard to say good-bye. We also called and sang Happy Birthday to Sebastian!! Happy birthday ...
