... sucre were spectacular; warm and freshly cooked, crunchy with sugar. Lots of tourists in the Central square, surrounded by gilt and baroque/renaissance from the 1690s. No sight of Tin Tin!

Next on our walk was the St. Michael and St. Gudula Cathedral ,a Roman Catholic Gothic style church built 1226-1490. As the national church for Belgium it is here that royal weddings and funerals take place. The interior is not as oppulent as some european churches but still very impressive!

... least once where I looked at Sarah and said 'what the heck are we doing here?!' haha. Just so beautiful and unique. I am not sure I will get over the awe of Europe..

We all left cold and wet but I was so happy to get a chance to experiene some tradition with friends! Looking forward to spending more time with Maryke and her family! :)
