... successfully with the help of a few friendly people. Germans are very helpful and if you ask for assistance go out of their way to get you to where you want to go. We arrived at the cruise boat successfully and were ushered on board to our cabin. I was initially disappointed with the view of concrete from our French balcony (see photo) until Rosanne pointed out we were still in dock! ... trying to keep the hatred alive. Also chatted to the guy behind the bar at hotel Wyndham. He is a Bulgarian engineer who is working in hospitality to improve his English language skills, so he can get a job in IT here in Germany. Says his English isn't as good as it should be but also volunteered the fact that he speaks seven languages in all. Cologne has a lovely feel to it. More friendly than Berlin. ... amp; as soon as you have finished another one is served & a mark on your mat keeps tally of how many you have drunk. The idea is that the beer is always 'fresh' & freshly drawn. Worked well..J had an impressive number of marks......

... to place a fresh crossiant order for breakfast tomorrow. The beer is local, brewed in the city and cost only 1.50 euro, just over a pound. I imagine supermarket beer to be free at this rate. Reissdorf Kolsch is the brew.
Tomorrow we plan to have a day off from driving to be city break tourists for the day, visiting Cologne center and the Lindt Chocolate factory!

... of Hofheim, super close to where he went to high school, to meet up with one of his friends at a coffee shop. I feel so unbelievably helpless here, having to ask Simon to order for me in German since all I know how to say is hello, goodbye, and how to count to ten. Luckily most people here know English, including Simon and his friend, so we were all able to talk to each other without a problem.
