From here, it was a drive back on the Autobahn towards the Black Forest. Unfortunately for someone traveling in the other direction, they lost control of their car and off they went into the paddock before our very eyes!

Arriving into Lucerne Switzerland was breathtaking!! The outside temperature was 24 degrees but the surrounding mountains were still covered in snow! We have a day at Mt Titlis tomorrow so hoping for ...

Finally!!! A city that actually feels like I'm in Germany. Got to my hotel and had to double check it was the right place because it was so nice inside, massive double bed room with ensuite and tv. After I sorted that out I went straight down to the Rhine for a beer. It's so hard to get used to the fact that you can drink on streets in Germany, people just walk around with bottles like it's normal. ... candy and flowers ("Kamillo" and "Trushia"), but we also learned the names and a few lyrics of the 3 famous German songs we heard playing all weekend. The songs have now been on repeat on all of our Itunes for the past week... By the end of the parade, we boarded the bus back home with a bag full of candies, chocolates, and flowers.

Although we arrived back to Freiburg to a week full of midterms and deadlines for papers, our carnival weekend made it totally worth it.
