Melbourne, Victoria, Australia joandcraigArrived at Melbourne Airport about 7.30 am after an overnighter from Hong Kong. Customs was hilarious...... Not only do they xray your hand luggage they also xray your suitcases. Not looking for bombs like the UK but any sorts of fruits, seeds, food items etc. All the Chinese that were on our flight had brought in such things and were having all kinds of stuff taken off them...... First impressions of Australia are good. The sun is shining, the sky bus from the airport is waiting for us and t...
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia robnsarahozR- Return to Melbourne 20th December 2006 Up early to leave the hostel in Adelaide, caught a cab to the airport as we were running late for once. Again, we checked in in under 2 minutes and settled down with another nice coffee in the airport. Adelaide airport has only been open for 8 months and is nice and shiny and new. The flight was actually shorter than we thought, as we gained half an hour in time zone changes on the way so it was only about an hour or so flight. Much better than the or...

Had dinner at Hofbrahaus Melbourne tonight for Cat's return. Didn't manage to finish the pork shank again ... feel sick ... haven't eaten this much since I came back from Sydney and Canberra. Will decide to have an extra long walk with Bobby tomorrow. Sara suggested I keep a log of my weight here to see if I manage to lose 10kgs in 10 weeks .. hmmm ... we'll see.
... in and so it was less of a chore training them as opposed to some of the delinquents we got in for training in Melbourne who you just knew weren’t going to last. Except the down side to that was more newly made friends to say goodbye to at the end of the day.
And then that penultimate day came. A particularly windy, hilly one but between me and my new person we smashed the sales out with a personal best (PB) from the new girl and a weeks PB for myself as I picked up team ...
After all the traveling around Australia knowing that we had 10 days to enjoy Melbourne was a comforting feeling. In those 10 days we enjoyed some highlights that the city had to offer. Shopping, shopping and even some shopping. Chapel St was the perfect location to find a dress for the wedding. The cheap valet parking at the new Doncaster Mall was a nice touch. And the city ...
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia kc200928th The days here now are hot, seriously hot. It really does mean you can't do much and these few days are spent between the pool and the TV room and the local Malls which are the only source of air-conditioning available to us. We potter about and achieve a little on the computer in terms of planning for the future. It seem obvious to us after having made some enquiries that coming back here to do the second years working holiday visa is delaying us doing what we want to in life ...
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia adam_and_kimWe arrived at Melbourne Airport to be greeted by our great friends Michael and Libby, two Australians back from their home in London for Christmas. Within minutes of getting into their car they told us they were putting on a BBQ for dinner back at theirs - we were definitely in Australia!! The next day we explored Melbourne - a large, lively, cosmopolitan city. In addition to the tram system, what stuck us immediately was ...
