An interesting fact I discovered this fortnight is that our NGO is the only one to have provided an estimate of the number of people evicted from Phnom Penh. Or at least that's what one of the coordinators said today, I just read in the WSJ that Amnesty International also provided an estimate, matching our's in time frame ...

... eller om det er fordi vi nyder varmen og den stjerneklare himmel om aftenen at vi har svært ved at komme tidligt afsted; men ellers forløb morgenen som altid. Henrik og Silje hoppede i poolen mens Annelise hoppede under bruseren, så mødtes vi til morgenmad for så at gå op mod Paladset -kun for at få at vide at det lukker for 'siesta' kl 11 og ikke først kl 12 som vi troede.

Så vi tog os endnu en tuk tuk tur ud på det lokale marked – Olympic ...

... Khmer aan het lezen. Pol Pot was opgeleid in Parijs, J.J. Rousseau bestudeerd, leraar geweest, de chinezen waren hier als adviseurs aanwezig! Ze wisten precies wat er aan de hand was. Je houdt het niet voor mogelijk, daarom moeten zulke plaatsen ten alle prijze bewaard en in stand gehouden worden.
Toerisme naar zulke plaatsen kan in vraag gesteld worden, alhoewel ... ik vind van niet. Het is naief te ...

... were cruelly murdered against this tree - it's something that will stay with both of us. If that wasn't enough trauma and upset we then went to S-21 the Genocide Museum. It was once a beautiful school set in pretty grounds but the Khmer Rouge turned it into a prison and place of torture. The classrooms had crude cells built into them and there was blood still on the floor near the foot chains. It was sickening.

My last day in Cambodia has arrived!!

Well i am all packed and ready for my last nights sleep in Phnom Pehn. I will be heading off to my next destination tomorrow morning and I need to be ready and waiting for 7.30am. I feel slightly sad to be leaving but at the same time excited to move on.

Today was a very relaxed day indeed. I lazed about in the Hotel for a couple of hours and then set off to the Tonle Sap Lake which was lovely. ...
