      Day 8

      Tuesday 8th July 2014

*We would have liked to stay longer in Erdobenye.

*We drive 150 km along a mainly rural route towards the Romanian border. We pass through villages where there are stork nests on the top of every lamp post. Curiously some nests have just 1 adult standing guard whilst others have 4 or 5 clambering for space. Must google why!

      Day 41: Training through Romania

... pull out window T.T. I didn't realize this until towards the end of the train ride; better late than never!

The hotel is pretty close to the train station, but the neighborhood is extremely sketchy. There is a corner where kids wait and approach asking for money. They look about 5-7 years old.

Checking in was pretty straight forward. Air conditioning cost extra, so we plan to just sleep without sheets.

We passed by a few religious buildings, the town theater, the city’s central square, and a memorial. The main part of Cluj-Napoca is relatively small and we walked around most of the town within the afternoon. We stopped by McDonalds to get a meal because it comes with a free World Cup Coca-Cola souvenir glass =).

... in a little cafe, James's latte came out in a champagne class which was pretty funky! We spent the rest of the afternoon in the botanical gardens which were very nice and relaxing, more like a park than gardens but still lovely. At 6pm we did a free city tour, he took us around the city explaining everything, he loved to talk! We met Rovi and Cata in town and went out for dinner at a really nice restaurant who makes their own pasta, safe to say it was delicious ! ...

      Epilogue

A travel blog entry by anne_cici on Sep 13, 2013

Looking back on my trip, I can definitely say taking it was one of the best decisions I have made thus far. I learned a lot about myself and about the world around us, not just in terms of places, but more importantly people. I could've made some better choices. For example, I am now certain that if I ever get the chance to do a "big" trip again, I will not travel with a group, especially not a group of people that come form only one country. It's not even ...
