City Oslo

... to watch the football and try to update
our blog (the computer was ****).
We had decided to rent a bike each the
previous day, so after getting the special bike card, we rode around
to some main attractions. We went to the Munch-Museet and saw the
famous 'Scream' and 'Madonna' painting, followed by the Vigeland Park
(which was a sight to see) and Vigeland Museum. We also cycled to the
Viking Ship Museum ...

... ships tell a lot about the Vikings and their history. I find myself wondering how people in the 19th century managed to design and build such a structure. Without the help and use of technology. Now, we can't do anything without cranes and computers. Are we getting dumber?

The old wooden style fits so perfectly into the surrounding landscape and makes for a lovely foto-op and chance to pick some wild and FREE raspberries!

It was very interesting since sometimes, I caught myself still thinking in Italian and translating it into an akward form of German. Perhaps too much limoncello from Fabiana and Marco's wedding last night was influencing my mind. However, at other times, when we found ourselves thinking in English or Norwegian, we would use those words and still understood each other ...

... seeing Buckingham Palace as a child on a family holiday to London and i must say it was as boring an experience now as it was then. The only interesting thing i find is the guards, I'm sure we have all dreamed of a job where we can get paid to stand around and do nothing but to me that's got to be the toughest stand around and do nothing jobs that you could possibly get paid for. ... as you walked through the streets - amazingly you can see the influence of nearby countries on their style of architectures based on what happened to the Norwegian history throughout time. To my surprise, this whole museum reminded me of my father. My dad grew up on a farm, being raised as a farm hand alike with his siblings.
