      ... apartment, and then had my italian class! after i made it in time to go sign up for volunteering opportunities at the API center.       Leaving monterosso we decide to make a stop at Pisa on our way to see the leaning tower! We had all our bags which made the 2-3km walk to the tower and back in the midday heat hard to bear.       ... the man working at the door let us in and we had a great family-style meal and met new friends. The steak was meravigliosa! They brought us extra dessert -Mille Feuille and biscotti dipped in liqueur - in addition to the Panne Cotte we ordered!

      ... Bolzano! Which is a little town sitting at the base of the Alps. I was SO happy to get into the mountains and away from cities.       Next we looked to find the Ponte vecchio, one of the most famous bridges in Florence. Our soggy quest took us through the Piazza del Repubblica, where there are the most amazing statues, including a copy of Michelangelo's David.
