... lovely tarte au pruneau which is a specialty of the place. It is a delicious prune tart flavored with rum, and I plan to try and recreate it at home.
At the fishmongers we purchased a huge 5 lb lobster, another local treat and made our way to another specialty store where we bought smoked tuna, all of which made for a very fine lunch.

... afternoon. All went well until a loud crack on P&Ps tandem signalled a broken spoke and buckled wheel. Fortunately we were near Pornic which has a Decathlon. After their bike mechanic took off gears, replaced spoke, tried the wheel we were underway again. We have camped on the outskirts of Pornic and done 45 miles - not all in the right direction!! PS. ... By lunchtime we had managed to avoid the heavy downpours but gave up our preferred stop overlooking the sun soaked beach for a garden centre entrance to escape the storm force winds. ... of my school for about ten years I am not very accustomed to waiting at a bus stop to board a bus for around thirty minutes before arriving at the school.
