... barking to protect their houses as we rode by. We rode for 20 kms and then stopped in a small village where we queued with the locals to buy bread and fruit tarts for morning tea. The streets didn't get any busier so we kept on biking, Geoff in the lead so he could navigate and me pottering along behind. My legs were feeling like lead, I'm not sure whether it's the 2 glasses of medincial red wine last night, my cold, the previous ...
We planned to get up early and as it happened it wasn't difficult. Although our hotel was lovely and a prime position in the town, our room on the ground floor was pretty much on the footpath. However we are planning an early night so we can be off to a flying start tomorrow ...
... A revisit to Monpazier on Sunday & then to Beaumont Perigord. Another chateau on Monday (Biron) so now I'm starting to get them mixed up which means I'm on "chateau overload"! Our last chateau on Tuesday but it is a vineyard where we did a tour then had the most divine lunch & bought a few bottles of their wine. A great way to end our time in the Dordogne region. Wednesday was a very important day as we both ...
