          Another travel day from Bordeaux to Rennes. Rennes is heading west and close to the west coast. The reason for going to Rennes is it is about an hour away from the famous Mont Saint Michel, and has a dedicated direct bus.
          It was such a nice sunny day and the lovely green countryside made the time pass quickly. I arrive into Rennes about 5.30pm and head to my accommodation.

          ... take a 60 degree left hand blind bend with a reasonable sweep on it.****! As the bend opens up there's a red Peugeot 205 belting towards us with some ruddy faced pisshead with a greybeard heading straight towards me on my side of the road. He sees me at the last second and swerves over to his side of the road - nobhead!

          ... to Omaha Beach and the american war cemetery. We headed off the Le Mont St Michel but unfortunately by the time we arrived we couldn't get inside. So we wandered around the outside, climbed up and down and looked out over the tidal flats. It is so amazing. We headed off to St Malo to check out the medieval walled city.
