... but I’d seen quite a few people look inside and then move on. After glancing in, I could see why. All they had was one room with little placards with pictures on them. No statues, no art, no nothing at all. I saved my 2€ and headed to Musee St-Croix.

... stop was for me to go out to the village. That was when I realized that the bus information I had was two years old. After searching everywhere I could think of, I’m pretty sure there is no bus going out there. I think the only option is to rent a car (YIKES!!) or pay for a taxi (DOUBLE YIKES!!). Rather than spend an extra $100 on a taxi, I opted to take an early train to Poitiers and do a bit more sightseeing here.

... narrow streets and set on a hill. It has been pedestrianised and it's a lovely shopping area. There is a market around Notre Dame, and an indoor market alongside.
But we haven't seen anything to match the splendour of Limoges.
Chauvigny is our next destination.
It was a chilly grey day in the medieval cite. The kids in France are on half term, but the castles and chateaux are closed. The donjon was tall, the chateau was intimidating and the castle was a ruin! ...

The family day allowed parent to use the heated pool with their children, and play a variety of games with them. For adults there was football (soccer), ping-pong, pétanque, and other outdoor games. Left Arromanches about 9.30am and drive through Bayeux onto Rennes where we lunched at the Golden Arches, purely because they had the convenience of food and toilets at the same venue.

After lunch we continued on, mostly on the motorway, however Madam Navman did lead us astray every now and then and we did drive through some small villages and countryside as we tried to skirt around the bigger cities.
