      Great hotel for your early flight. Unfortunately it is a short walk outside of the terminal, so when it rains, you will get wet.

      Things went relatively smoothly today. We feared the worst with the baggage problems at Gatwick but other than having to wait an hour in the queue to drop off our bag, dropping my (new) camera in the security check area and getting searched (must be the wedding ring that set off the alarm!), all was OK.

      ... anything to declare and if you don't walk through the red gate well you just walk out, so easy.By chance there was a Melbourne girl who travelled the exact same route as me. So although I'd love to tell you how to get to the city by train I can't, she gave me a lift in her taxi paid for by her company, I'm grateful.
      I arrived at the hostel by 4am and my body thinks its 10pm... Ugh jet lag.

      The last thing I want is to expose even such a minor wound to the dirty streets of Red Light District, Amsterdam… and result in an infection. We do not have time for that!
