... and then after lunch we head off on a small boat cruise with the French couple. We start out across the lakes and then travel up a small tributary. Then we see the most amazing thing ever! ... we headed out to the reggae bar for some food and a beer but were hit by a huge rainstorm on the way. the whole bar was under 5 inches of water and the staff stood trying to sweep the water out towards the river. still, we went in and sat for some dinner. we put our feet up on one of the tables wooden beams to stop our feet going wrinkly and had a very strange evening sat playing cards in a flooded bar whilst the family who owned the place sat watching total ...

... was pretty rank too, with a shower that dribbled water out. The gardens were lovely (hence the price!) and we saw minotaur lizards, quite big ones, slipping into the lake a few times. Being beer o’clock, we head to a bar on the beach front called "Don’t tell mama". The beach is beautiful – a huge golden arc and the sea looks turquoise and inviting. ... it back safe and noticed that some of the kids were still holding on to there fire-flies - they never let them go, they may be glowing in a glass jar as we speak.

It was still hot although it was 9.30pm at night so we got a giant Iced Milo (chocolate milk) from the reggae bar - rock ‘n’ roll! After we watched a film on the laptop and once again fell asleep listening to the hum of the bar next door.

Christmas in April who would have thought it!
