I'm in Casablanca now, it's 31°, Nantes was 12 °. It's brown like Australia, France was lush and green,I don't suppose they have great tasting strawberries here. How odd, this morning I was wandering around the market in La Boule, now Casablanca. Two hours flight and the world has completely changed, it's not like this in Australia! Waiting for Dad (Chris), I haven't heard from him. I wrote an email on Friday, no response. Hope all is ...

... or bust!!! We alternated with losing the cycle path but eventually all found Nantes.

Enjoyed our rest day in Nantes where we toured the Chateau of the Ducs of Bretagne - fascinating displays - before taking the tram out of town to the "Floriales International" - Europe's largest garden show! We had been seeing the poster BUT now we had to have that one, too!

Beautiful cycle along the Loire to the small ...

Thanks to Cora we arrived at YVR in good time with our carefully weighed bike boxes! On inspection an agent informed us that we owed $450 extra as Werner's box was over the 23 kg allowed (but less than 32 kg which we had determined would cost an extra $150). Much to our relief, after consulting with their supervisor and the fact that Werner had researched this point, as an ex-lawyer might,, we were ...

... but I have to say I got on pretty well here. The city had a cool laid
    back feel but still
managed to have a buzzing vibe. Walks along the river reminded me of
    Chester
and the city was easy to
navigate (on foot) although I wasn't allowed on the tram unless
I was like a babe in arms or in a shopping bag(really?) the
pensioners did give theses options fleeting consideration but on
balance decided that neither was really a ...

... from the outside instead and wandered the town talking about how our chickens will get along with our goats. Besides, we already saw his grave at the chateau so really we got the important bit right? Tomorrow we head back to Nantes for the day as we have a flight leaving from there at 6am (ugh!) on Saturday. Hopefully we'll be able to catch the Elephant museum and actually go inside if it's not too crazy. Then it's off to Tenerife to (fingers crossed) get some sun! ...
