Paris - Day 2 - Eiffel Tower, Good Grub, & Cruise!

... t just salespeople. There was a definite creepy vibe about them, ... and so as I stood in line with my don't-talk-to-me-or-you-will-die look on my face, I did my best to scope out the situation. Within five minutes, I saw the deal. A young boy walked up to a man asking the price for an item. He turned instantly, and went toward the mom (who had two other small children with her) and began discussing prices with her. Soon after three other men came, one alongside ...

... are able to do it by that time frame...fantastic idea I say! Anyone in Melbourne wish to do the same thing perhaps?!? Where was I? Oh yeah, I have even seen bosnian women working in gangs asking if you speak english. Imagine my delight at hearing that until I was hit with the sob story with a note being held up to my face saying that their father was in hospital and needed money. Here's an after thought. She asked me in perfect english! If you answer ...

... us" from the "them's". Not so many Canadians around Paris in general - lots of Americans, a few Auzzies, lot of Brits. After dinner, we went on the 10pm river cruise, to see the buildings an monuments lit up, and of course, Le Tour Eiffel as the star of the show. See for yourself - it was lovely. K

<Brian's brief chronological list of "highlights" (and of whinging)> - Eurodisney - French Meal at a café - Eiffel tower pictures at night (Brian was too lazy to update the blog from here onwards..) <Lang's Extended Version> We woke up quite early this morning as we were going to catch a ride with Gruncle to the train station before he dropped Sophie off to school. We were out of the apartment by 8.10am, and as usual, Gruncle was in a ...

... and the lines to both the elevator and the stairs were very long! We took the line to the stairs over the elevator because it was shorter...but after standing in line for a half and hour...they told us they were closing down the line! It was getting tooo dark and they didn't want people climbing up the stairs in the dark. We decided that since we made it this far we had to go to the top...so we hopped in the elevator line and just hoped it moved fast! While waiting, Sarah decided a ...

Let's walk around Paris!

... phone rang and he answered it "Pronto," we laughed. That is exactly the Italian attitude we love. The girls were grateful to sleep in (we returned with four clean loads of laundry and pastries from the local shop just after noon) and we hit the streets for our last day in Paris. It turned out to be quite the walking extravaganza. We headed to Notre Dame and walked into the church to admire the incredible interior. The absolute disregard of so many tourists is amazing (thank ...

... on top of Sierra Nevada where it was snowing, but the first placed was shut for renovation, the second one was booked out so next we pulled into a hotel on top of the mountain. During the night mum and dad got to sample some of the Spanish customs, that is they (including their children) stay up all night and are very very noisy... needless to say they did not get a very good nights sleep because heaps of people rock up to check in at 1.00am in the morning and then yell and scream ...
