Returning from the Arc, the Eiffel Tower had finally unveiled itself. I couldn't believe that I was standing there, it was very cool to see in person. Taking advantage of the shortened lines due to the fog, I bought a ticket to walk up to the second level (the very top level was still closed). I short ride to get me back into the cycling, at just 70km.
The terrain was very hilly at first and therefore very slow. Once again google directed me down a muddy gravelly rooty offroad track which required a suspension bike. I fell off at some speed as the pedal hit a tree stump which was concealed by fallen leaves. I had to reload the panniers and bag as they had gone flying off and then got going again.

After breakfast and coffee with Nick I packed up and made tracks for Gif which lies South west of Paris. To get there I had to cycle straight through Paris. 70 KM, Fairly easy going first half and tougher second. I arrived in Gif mid afternoon and indulged in some luxuries; a bath, a good hot meal, Gin, a good internet connection, and a warm bed. ...

... another metro ride we finall found a nice posh little place with a cool atmosphere. I had the Homemade sausage and 'aouilet' (I can't remember how it's spelt but it's French dish of potatoes and cheese) it was delicious. Charly ordered the Beef Bourginion. Which was raw mince. Literally. Raw mince. She wasn't too happy but the evening was nice and we had lots of delicious free French bread. Completely wiped we went to bed! Tomorrow is our last full day. Say ...

At the end of the cruise we are taken to Trocadero Square for the best views of the Eiffel Tower at night, with its night-time lights reflecting in a large lake down from Trocadero.
