... The helicopter ride itself was a bit hairy as the weather changed drastically to blow gale force winds. It certainly made for a memorable ride in over very choppy seas. The pilot got us in safely but it moved around a lot during landing.

The hotel I'm staying in is well worth a mention as it's one of the most famous in town. It started life named the Loews hotel in the early 70's being built over the top of the old Monte Carlo train station. ...

Up at 7am and away right on eight. Dan had advised that it would be about an hours drive around the M25 to Gatwick, and as we had a 10:55 flight we should have plenty of time.. ... all day easily. We walked past casinos and ritzy hotels before deciding on a place to eat. Food was good but sizes were huge. Not sure how we fit it all in, but needed the hour walk back to the hotel to digest. Close to midnight, the promenade was still packed full of people including families with small kids. ... unfortunately couldn’t even eat their main by the time it came out. After sitting for a little longer waiting for the food to digest it was time to then do some shopping. After looking around at the shops buying a couple of things it was time to head back to the hotel to rest up and get ready to head to MONICO for dinner and gambling!!
