Kyoto

Day 6, We jumped back on a bullet train from Hiroshima to Kyoto, only changing once at shin-Osaka again. When we arrived we asked the taxi to take us to our hotel (citadines karasuma-gojo apart hotel). He got completely lost even though we had shown him the address in Japanese and a map. He finally stopped and called the hotel... We ended up …

I hope you weren't holding your breath to hear whether Kate and Ben got back from Nara. They got back to our house in Kyoto at around 7.30pm, wet and cold but happy. They had seen the Todai-ji temple that holds the giant buddha which was finished in 751. At the time it took almost all the bronze that existed in Japan and went close to bankrupting …

We would stay in one of these everywhere if it was possible..! Spacious bedroom, sitting area, desk, TV, DVD player, Speaker dock, kitchen, bathroom.. Only here for 2 nights but would be good for a long stay. Free wifi and laundry facilities in the hotel.
