    On the way down the lift this am there was a woman & her 2 children. I made the comment "not so squeezy" & she asked where we were from. She was from Melbourne & had been to Paris, had moved on to Lyon & her family were travelling to Nice to the Riviera! It is quite amazing the people you meet.

    Today has been a travel day. The journey to Lyon was via TER train [regional travel throughout France & not the TGV high speed train]. Got up early & caught a taxi to Paris-Gare Lyon.     ... the Old Town has been perfect. Walk out the door and there are so many things to see and do.
    Museums abound, walks along streets laden with fashion houses - no possible temptation there as we are already at the limit of airline weight allowances - churches, cathedral, basilica, river cruises - all add to the colours and flavours of such a charming city.
    And the people really have been friendly and charming.

    Ben loved the long walk in the park ...

    Such a lovely morning that we delay setting off and have a potter around Besancon. It is a really charming town and we will definitely come back again.     We said our goodbyes and caught the 7.30am bus from Prague to Nuremberg. I exchanged Czech krone for Euros at a rip off rate at the train station. Now I know why the rates weren't on display.
