... The representative said that they are moving toward improving their system constantly, which is a good thing. I was inspired to hear that the work they have done has been incremental. They started here with on-road bicycle lanes and eventually moved to off-road, protected cycle tracks. In Detroit, we have miles of painted bicycle lanes and it is my hope that in a few years we too can boast of the ...

It is also true, by the way, that it is a town of cyclists (though that doesn’t stop it from also having a lot of car traffic). The first thing, after consuming my breakfast in bed, that I did this morning was download a flight tracker to track Daniel's epic flight from Dubai direct to Melbourne. I'm not sure why, but it makes me feel connected to him a bit for some reason, knowing where he is in his flight! As this was my last day before heading off into the great unknown tomorrow (otherwise ...

... of Amsterdam for the first time.
In the evening we attended the Gay Pride Party after having eaten the "best fries in The Netherlands" and checking out the city centre. It was easily one of the best parties we've ever been to. Everyone was really nice and enjoyed themselves even though the whole city was packed and you could barely move.
We started the next day pretty chilled. ...
