We ventured up into the Cascade Lake area with the boats to Sparks Lake. We love this lake with all the volcano rocks and you can hear the water running in behind the rocks. We saw this deer across the lake eating a lot of brush, then he took some drink from the lake edge. Charlie always runs the boat and I turned to get this photo of him –Mt. Bachelor is covered with lots of snow and you can see just a bit of it behind him ...

... into a bind… with some adjustment we were able to get enough clearance to see day light were it was once touching and then the time to adjust the scope to bring it in on target at 75-100 yards… about the maximum range of the 22 LR… as we worked with the rifle Gabe was able to shoot a 3" circle on the target with a tube full of 22 shells… (15).. that’s not bad shooting…
We hope to go shooting in MT for gray ...

... and moves around Crater Lake.  It has been observed in the lake since 1896.  It moves around the lake, up to 4 miles a day.  They think it was hemlock.  Then we moved on to the northwest end of the lake.  Seeing the peak called LoHa and the Devils Backbone which is remenants of a natural dyke in the crater.  We than moved on at passed through the channel between the edge of the lake and Wizard Island. ... the top... from the top of the Caldera we could see down into Paulina Lake and East Lake and then past the rim of the Caldera in all directions... again we could see for miles...

The walk to the falls was great.... an easy walk... and the falls were something like 150 ft... much like Silver Creek Falls....

It's so amazing that from the floor of the valley mother nature has pushed up a area of land that would erupt and then cave ...
