... we booked on my phone while on the bus. Yet another amazing feature that makes traveling easy. I have an international cell plan with T Mobile and don't even need to change SIM cards when I change countries. While WiFi access is spotty at best in hotels, my 3G coverage is pretty good usually.
A nice taxi driver drove us to town and we chatted a bit. They don't get many tourists in Semarang, even though it's about the same size ...
... the mist prevented us seeing the scenery. Super lunch at Susan Spa hotel before coach back to harbour through centre of Semarang. MS Rotterdam was moored behind us with 1000 passengers in board sailing 39 days from Africa to Indonesia. Found a new part of the ship last night so watching us leave harbour from aft deck 5 with a glass of bubbly. Singapore here we ...
... but this little old iPad couldn't catch them, so you will just have to take our word for it. We potter around and Dave is having a great time playing with the dragons and making friends. Some of the shrines only Martin was allowed to enter, and neither of us was allowed to enter the holiest shrine of all. Whether parts of the temple have been built at different times we are not sure, but behind the largest shrine there was a large wall with a picture story ...
... but it was surely an enjoyable and memorable. If not for the view and weather, I would have surely opted for the horse ride. With this we bid farewell to this place and headed back to Bandungan town in search of a good place to have dinner and yes.....I am surely starving after the massive workout.
