... way back to the ship. We got back to the ship close to 2:00 PM. I was pretty sleepy from taking the Benadryl, so we took a nap after lunch and then watched the sail-away from the Crow's Nest Bar. We had dinner in the Lido and then went to the show. After the show there was supposed to be a Country Music Hour in the piano bar, but he only played one country song. We stayed until his break and then went to bed.

... und Roller hatten wir noch nie auf einem Haufen gesehen. Und überall, zwischen den Satay-Ständen und Warungs bis hin zum Skatepark waren wir die einzigen Weißen und wurden entsprechend angegafft, von den kleinen Kindern bis zu den alten Omas. Ein interessantes Gefühl, nicht unangenehm aber doch ungewohnt. Dass wir deutlich in der Unterzahl waren kannten wir nach einigen Monaten in Asien natürlich, aber tatsächlich die einzigen Weißen zu sein, ...

... store. Actually meeting this woman was an incredible experience. At 95 she was so lively, independent, strong and out right inspiring. As we took photographs of her and her small home/store she joked in her local Javanese, "You pretty, me ugly". We all tried her coffee, which was surprisingly tasty although it raised a few hairs on the chest and then we were off, leaving the woman to get back to her daily routine.

Waking with a bout of food poisoning is never fun but having to travel five hours on a train and a further two by car is the worst start to a day ever. The plan was to try to sleep it off. I also ducked into a new multistory mall which had a Mc Donalds and numerous stores selling shoes, fabric, sunglasses and copy watches and rows and rows of modest Muslim headscarfs and dresses. What seemed incongruous was right beside these shops were a couple of underwear store with normal undergarments for both men and women and very vivid displays of the type of raunchy stuff we would expect to see in sex stores. ...
